Peppers – Day 52

Below are two plants that are roughly equal in maturity.  Are they the same variety or are they different? I labeled the one on the left as a scorpion and the one on the right as a fresno, but they look very similar.  If there are any differences between them at this stage, I can’t

Peppers – Day 51

I dug through some old pictures I had from the last time I grew some peppers to see if I could make out any differences between the scorpion and fresno pepper plants.  All I could find were close-up shots of the peppers that don’t really show the plants.  This is a scorpion pepper. This is

Peppers – Day 49

It’s Monday, and I need to use my desk.  Everyone is outside except the plants with special needs.  I imagine the ones outside will get more light than they will inside even though it’s overcast today.  Some of the scorpions and fresnos went into a bit of a funk after being out the other day,

I spent some time noting the differences between some of the plants this morning.  The Bahamian goat pepper has dark green, bumpy leaves with short stems.  The leaves are clustered closer to the main trunk of the plant.  They resemble the scotch bonnet plants I posted previously. The scorpion pepper has much smoother leaves at

I thought that this little chocolate ghost plant was dead.  Its first leaves withered and it was just a little stick coming out of the soil.  I’m not sure what happened to it, but it definitely wasn’t healthy.  I had mostly given up on it, but I kept making sure it had water and light.Â
