Peppers – Day 100

I took a break from posting for the last few weeks.  The workload of my day job along with taking care of everything at home left me feeling pretty exhausted by the end of the day.  It was also getting to be a little boring posting essentially the same pictures every day.  There just wasn’t much of anything interesting happening to talk about.  Now it’s been 100 days since I started this adventure, and it seemed like a good time for a new post.

All the plants are outside and in proper pots now.  Some of them could benefit from being in larger pots or with a little more soil to grow in, but it’s what I had available.  Next time, I’ll have fewer plants and be able to give them a little better accommodations.

Most of the plants have buds or are flowering.  I expect I’ll have a lot more peppers than I can use in the coming weeks and months.  I may end up drying and grinding some of them.  I’ll save some for seeds too.

Some of the plants that could be Fresno or scorpion peppers are definitely Fresno peppers.  They seem to be developing faster than most of the others.

I have a ghost pepper that’s pretty far along.

The mystery peppers from the Chinese restaurant are doing well too.  The plants I grew a couple of years ago produced a lot of peppers.  It looks like these will too.

Some of the mad hatter peppers had gotten pretty leggy and wouldn’t stand up.  I cut off the tops which helped them strengthen their main stems and bush out.  I decided to see if the cuttings would grow, so I brought them in the house and threw them in some water.  They’ve both produced some healthy roots and are ready to go into some soil.  I’ll have to scrounge some more pots and soil for them.
