A few of the plants haven’t been very solidly rooted in their cups. This scorpion pepper plant is a good example. It’s really tall and flimsy, and some of the roots at the base of the stem are exposed.
I pulled it out of the cup and took off about a third of the soil from the bottom. Then I stuck the plant back in the cup and put the extra soil on top to cover the exposed roots and prop it up a bit.
It’s still bent over, but I’m hoping it’ll stand up eventually. I put it near but facing away from the main grow light to encourage it to stand up and lean back the other way.
I think in the future I’ll try planting the plants that tend to grow taller a little deeper in the peat pods and cups to start with.
