Peppers – Day 4

It’s day 4 and 21 seeds have germinated!  I wasn’t expecting anything for several more days.  I guess I have some work to do now.  I’ll need to get these guys into some little pots or something and find somewhere to put them.  I may not have thought this through enough.

So, these are the fresno peppers.  At least I think they are.  I got a bit confused as I was transferring the seeds.  Some might be scorpions.  I’ll probably be able to tell when they get their real leaves.

And I think these are the scorpions.

They look so innocent, don’t they?  They’ve been known to hit 2,000,000 Scoville units.  That’s twice as hot as a ghost pepper.

This container is a mix.  When I inevitably forget what’s in this container, I can look back at this picture to remember.  The mystery peppers are from some peppers I got from an Asian restaurant.  I always end up ordering some sort of spicy dish when I go there, and the owner of the place offered me some peppers he grew in his garden one day.  They’re tiny little red peppers that look a lot like about a dozen different varieties.  I haven’t been able to figure out what they are.  They have a nice burn to them, but they’re not deadly like a ghost pepper.

I left some blank spots so that everything stays in place.  I can fill them in as more of the seeds germinate.

We’ll see what pops up tomorrow.  I’m really excited about the lemon drop.  I’ve read that it’s a favorite of many people that are into hot peppers, but I’ve never had any.  I really hope they make it.

My sweet basil is up now too.

Overnight they went from not being visible to this!  I’ll have to name them Audrey and Audrey II.
